Hello! If you’re a fellow animal lover or if you’ve ever considered becoming a veterinarian, welcome to Dogtor Dawn–a site for celebrating the joys animals bring to our lives.  Here I’ll share stories about animals of all shapes and sizes and my journey to fulfilling my lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.  Animals were my first love.  Animals, especially dogs, caught my heart as a young girl and nothing’s really changed about that.  If you’re stopping by, animals probably mean a lot to you, too.  This is a place where you can hear about my journey to become a veterinarian and my life surrounded by animals.  You’ll also find tips about how to know if veterinary medicine is for you, suggestions on making yourself a strong candidate for vet school, and what life is like after you’ve earned the 3 letters (DVM/VMD) that mean you’ve been trained to heal.

Vet To Be is related to the before and during vet school experience and where you’ll find tips, inspiration, and things to think about if you’re considering a career in veterinary medicine.

Animal stories is where you’ll find my experiences with animals though these stories may not be directly related to being or becoming a veterinarian.

Lab Animal is where you’ll find content about the specialty of veterinary medicine that I currently practice, laboratory animal medicine.

Quotes inspire me, help me see things in new ways, and even help me focus on what’s important.  My favorite inspirational and animal-related quotes are in the Quotes section.
